Press Release: Holiday Cheer Awaits Children at Project Elf in Bellows Falls
By BOB MARTIN, Eagle Times Staff
BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — This holiday season, children in the Bellows Falls area are in for a special treat as Project Elf brings joy and warmth to local families. Scheduled for December 15, the event will provide an opportunity for kids to meet Santa Claus, decorate ornaments, enjoy cocoa and cookies, and receive a heartfelt gift bundle.
Dispatcher Brianna Dyer, a key organizer, explains that families can register their children to receive pajamas, an age-appropriate book, and a cozy throw blanket. "We prepare individual bags for each child, which Santa will present during their special photo opportunity," Dyer said.
Coinciding with the Parade of Lights on December 14, families can visit the firehouse, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting to greet young guests. Dyer noted the event is supported entirely by community donations, emphasizing its collective spirit.
The initiative also aims to foster a positive connection between local law enforcement and youth. Dyer, along with Officer Jillian Cenate and Police Liaison Barbara Parizo, have been working to create meaningful interactions. The event is open not only to Bellows Falls residents but also to children from surrounding areas—creating an inclusive atmosphere.
Families had until the end of November to sign up, but registration remains open until December 9 at the Bellows Falls Police Department. Each child can register only once for the event, and donations of throw blankets are also being welcomed.
Project Elf will take place at 170 Rockingham Street from 1 to 3 p.m. For further details, including how to donate, interested parties can contact the Bellows Falls Police Department at 802-463-1234. Don’t miss out on this magical community event!
