Vermont Lake Monsters Named Futures League Organization of the Year
Burlington, VT – The Vermont Lake Monsters have been honored as the 2024 Organization of the Year by the Futures League, marking the third recognition in four years for the team. The announcement was made by Commissioner Joe Paolucci during the Futures League’s Fall Organizational Meeting in Worcester.
Under the leadership of President & CEO Chris English and Senior Vice President C.J. Knudsen, the Lake Monsters have set a high standard for excellence both on and off the field. Paolucci praised their efforts, stating, “They have become a model franchise in our league, ensuring fans have a wonderful experience at the ballpark.”
The team has consistently excelled in attendance, welcoming a league-leading 90,710 fans at Centennial Field this past summer, ranking among the top 25 summer collegiate teams nationwide. Vermont has achieved an average of over 2,000 attendees per game for three consecutive seasons, with nine sell-out crowds, including thrilling “Hot Dog Hysteria” nights.
The Lake Monsters are also recognized for their community engagement, raising funds for local schools and charities through ticket programs, auctions, and raffles. Their commitment to fan experience was further highlighted by their win for the Futures League’s Best Ballpark Food and the acknowledgment of Grace Vincent as Staff Member of the Year.
On the field, manager Matt Fincher led the team to its fourth postseason appearance, with the franchise earning accolades as both the Most Valuable Player and Relief Pitcher of the Year.
“Being named Organization of the Year is a tribute to our amazing fans and dedicated staff,” Knudsen remarked. As they prepare for their 30th season and anticipate welcoming their 3,000,000th fan, the Lake Monsters aim for continued success and a championship in the upcoming year.
