Swift had previously criticized the video as “revenge porn.” Fans of Swift, known as Swifties, called out Billboard for the disrespectful inclusion of the unauthorized clip and launched a campaign demanding an apology. The hashtag #BillboardIsOverParty trended on social media, with many criticizing the publication for the error and for ranking Swift as the No. 2 pop star of the 21st century. Billboard has since removed the clip from the video and expressed regret for the harm caused. The publication is set to reveal its No. 1 pick for greatest pop star on December 3. Swift and her representatives have not yet commented on the issue.
