Billboard issued an apology to Taylor Swift after including unauthorized footage of a nude wax figure of her in a video celebrating her career achievements. The video featured a clip from rapper Ye’s “Famous” music video, which depicted several naked celebrities including Swift. Swift had previously criticized the video as “revenge porn.” Fans of Swift, known as Swifties, called out Billboard for the disrespectful inclusion of the unauthorized clip and launched a campaign demanding an apology. The hashtag #BillboardIsOverParty trended on social media, with many criticizing the publication for the error and for ranking Swift as the No. 2 pop star of the 21st century. Billboard has since removed the clip from the video and expressed regret for the harm caused. The publication is set to reveal its No. 1 pick for greatest pop star on December 3. Swift and her representatives have not yet commented on the issue.
