University of Vermont Issues Trespassing Notice Amid Ongoing Investigation
BURLINGTON, Vt. — The University of Vermont (UVM) Department of Police Services has issued a trespassing notice to an unidentified individual observed on campus earlier this month. This development comes as part of the department’s investigation following an incident that occurred near Slade Hall on November 10.
Initially, police had linked the suspect to a sexual assault case that occurred in the vicinity of South Prospect and Maple Street. However, subsequent investigations have confirmed that the two incidents are not connected.
The individual, who was briefly detained near Slade Hall, has been barred from all UVM property as part of the university’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for students and staff. Details regarding the identity of the suspect have not been disclosed.
In a separate ongoing investigation, campus police are looking into a serious sexual assault case involving a female student. Reports indicate that the incident involved the student being tackled by a male suspect who attempted to remove her clothing. As of now, UVM police have provided no further updates regarding this investigation.
The UVM Department of Police Services continues to encourage students and faculty to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity on campus. The university is dedicated to maintaining a secure atmosphere for its community members.
As investigations progress, more information is expected to be released to the public, ensuring transparency and safety within the university environment.
