The University of Vermont celebrated the 55th UVM Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday night as part of UVM Weekend. Sponsored by Baker Distributing, this year’s inductees included Sydney Mas, Jonathan Nordbotten, Nika Ouellette, Kate Ryley, and Brian Voelkel. Sydney Mas, a standout women’s lacrosse player, set numerous records during her time at Vermont and now works as a Vice President at a real estate private equity firm. Jonathan Nordbotten, an alpine skier, won an NCAA National Championship and has since retired from skiing to work in Investment Banking in Oslo, Norway. Nika Ouellette excelled in track and field, earning multiple All-American honors and now works for a sports technology startup in Cambridge, MA. Kate Ryley, another alpine skier, racked up podium appearances and NCAA titles during her career and now lives in the Cayman Islands with her family. Brian Voelkel, a men’s basketball star, made history as the only player in NCAA Division I history with over 1,000 rebounds and 600 assists and now resides in California, where he runs a youth basketball program. Baker Distributing was the presenting sponsor of the UVM Athletics Hall of Fame event, celebrating the achievements of these talented athletes.
