Vermont Public Seeks Community Forum Members to Shape Future of Public Media
Colchester, Vt. — Vermont Public is inviting applications for its Community Forum, a volunteer group that plays a critical role in shaping the future of public media in Vermont. This forum will consist of 20-40 diverse community members who will provide valuable feedback on programming and services and act as a bridge between Vermont Public and local communities.
The selected members will represent a broad spectrum of professions, geographic areas, and individual interests, reflecting the region’s demographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about public media, interact with Vermont Public staff, and engage in discussions regarding the organization’s goals and programming. Additionally, they will serve as ambassadors of Vermont Public, sharing insights and gathering input from their communities.
The Community Forum will convene biannually as a full group, with regular smaller gatherings in the interim. Members will serve three-year terms but may re-apply for further terms. "Vermont Public’s engagement efforts would not be possible without the Community Forum," stated Kari Anderson, senior vice president for audience & community. "This diverse group acts as the organization’s eyes and ears in local communities, ensuring we meet their informational and cultural needs."
Interested community members can apply online or request a paper application by calling 802-654-3912. Applications are due by December 3. More details about the Community Forum are available at vermontpublic.org.
