Old Mill Road Media Announces Rebranding of The Vermont News Guide
East Arlington, VT – In a significant shift, Old Mill Road Media announced on Monday that The Vermont News Guide is set to return to its original roots, rebranding itself as "The Guide." Originally launched in 1954 as The Shopping Guide by artist and photographer Gene Pelham and his wife, Kay, the publication has undergone various transformations since its inception. It primarily served as a community resource highlighting shopping, recreation, and entertainment in Manchester and nearby areas.
Dr. Joshua Sherman, CEO of Old Mill Road, expressed both nostalgia and optimism about this transition. “While I am certain there are many who will be sad to see the physical Vermont News Guide no longer in print (myself included), this will allow our team to share community updates in a more timely fashion and in an easy-to-navigate digital format,” he remarked. The new website for The Guide, along with Manchester Life Magazine, is anticipated to launch in January 2025.
The final print issue of The Vermont News Guide will be a special holiday edition, released on November 25, featuring stories and holiday specials running through New Year’s Day. In tandem with this change, Manchester Life Magazine will shift from an annual to a biannual publication, with new “Summer/Fall” and “Holiday/Winter” issues set to debut.
Additionally, Vermont Magazine will adopt the same publishing schedule, while Stratton Magazine will continue with quarterly releases. Berkshire Magazine is set to publish six times a year, and Music in the Berkshires will maintain its focus on the region’s vibrant music scene through a robust online calendar and weekly e-newsletter.
This rebranding marks a pivotal moment for Old Mill Road Media and its commitment to enriching community connections in the region.
