Holiday Spirit Shines at Montpelier’s Touch of Vermont Market
MONTPELIER, Vt. — The festive spirit filled Vermont’s state capital Saturday as the annual Touch of Vermont Holiday Market returned to the Capitol Plaza Hotel, offering locals a heartwarming start to their holiday shopping. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event showcased dozens of local businesses, allowing shoppers to support Vermont vendors while getting a head start on their gift lists.
After a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the market’s revival was warmly welcomed by both vendors and the community. Derek Vanat, owner of Mad Crow Coffee Co., participated in the market for the first time, highlighted the importance of such events for emerging businesses. "This is our debut event, and we don’t have a physical location in Vermont yet. Events like this allow us to spread our wings," he remarked. Vanat expressed delight at witnessing community interaction and satisfaction among visitors, especially with the holiday season approaching.
Another local entrepreneur, Natalie Carr, showcased her unique "wild woogs," crafted from repurposed materials. After eight years in the business, she values events like this for the exposure they offer and the opportunity to engage with the Vermont community. "It’s been a busy market; everyone is coming out. It really is important," Carr noted.
Event organizers encouraged locals to consider shopping at the market in support of their community. As shoppers browse and enjoy the festive atmosphere, the Touch of Vermont Holiday Market stands as a testament to resilience and local spirit during the holiday season.
