Country singer Sundance Head, winner of Season 11 of ‘The Voice,’ was injured by a stray bullet at his Texas ranch. He was taken to a hospital in Tyler where he is recovering after being stabilized. The bullet lodged in his stomach but surgery was deemed unnecessary. Head’s wife updated fans on Facebook and asked for prayers. His agent stated the injury was likely caused by nearby hunter’s gunfire, not self-inflicted.
Head, who was coached by Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice,’ released an album in 2022 and returned to the show last year for Shelton’s send-off. Despite his father, Roy Head, being a musician, Sundance didn’t pursue music until he was 33. Before ‘The Voice,’ he had struggled to advance on ‘American Idol.’
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office has not provided additional information about the incident. Head’s fans have been asked to respect the family’s privacy during his recovery.
