In Week 5 of the 2024 Vermont high school football season, Champlain Valley Union Redhawks maintained their top spot in the Division 1 rankings, with Rutland close behind at No. 2. In Division 2, Rice Memorial remained undefeated at the top, with Mt. Abraham at No. 2 with a record of 4-1.
These rankings were determined by SBLive’s computer algorithm, inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method created by astrophysicist Wes Colley to eliminate subjectivity in ranking systems. SBLive’s computer rankings are released weekly and align with High School on SI’s human power rankings.
