Start of the Ninth Annual Catamount Challenge Today

The ninth annual Catamount Challenge has begun, with the goal of raising funds to support UVM student-athletes. Last year, over $400,000 was raised, and this year’s campaign aims to surpass that amount. Donations can be made at go.uvm.edu/gocats, with all gifts going towards an Excellence Fund for a specific UVM sports program.

Currently, donations are being matched by donors for nine UVM programs, including track and field, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, basketball, swimming, skiing, and field hockey. Men’s hockey has already completed a match. Those interested in setting up a matching gift for their team can contact Kylie deGroot Spiegel.

At the end of the Challenge, prizes will be awarded to Catamount teams, including $2,500 for the most overall donors, $1,500 for the most dollars raised, and $1,000 for the most alumni donors. Any gift of $5 or more to any program will count towards the challenge.

It is important to note that gifts made during the Catamount Challenge are not eligible for Victory Club benefits. The campaign will run until Friday, October 25 at 12 p.m. Donors are encouraged to participate in this annual event to help support UVM student-athletes and contribute to the success of the university’s sports programs.
