The Vermont Men’s Basketball team is gearing up for their season kickoff match against UAB in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday, November 4th. The game will broadcast live on ESPN+ and fans can also tune in to the Vermont Sports Network via the Varsity Network App. The Catamounts are looking to secure their first America East Championship four-peat in program history, having been selected as the number one team in the America East Preseason Poll. Last year, Vermont ranked 9th nationally in scoring defense and excelled at protecting the ball, ranking ninth in turnovers per game. Key players such as Shamir Bogues and TJ Long have received Preseason All-Conference honors and will be instrumental in leading the team to victory.
On the other side, UAB is the preseason favorite to win the 2024-25 American Athletic Conference title. The Blazers return a significant amount of production from last season’s NCAA Tournament squad, led by forward Yaxel Lendeborg. UAB is coming off an AAC championship and will present a tough challenge for the Catamounts in their first ever match-up.
The game promises to be an exciting clash between two talented teams, with McGee Automotive Family as the presenting sponsor of Vermont Men’s Basketball. Fans can catch all the action on ESPN+ and the Varsity Network App as the Catamounts look to kick off their season with a statement win against UAB.
