A new crisis alert technology, Centegix, has been approved by the Tucson Unified School District board to enhance school safety. The system equips teachers and staff with badges featuring clickers to report emergencies and summon help quickly. TUSD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo believes this is a significant advancement in security and safety for students and staff. The Catalina Foothills School District has also voted to adopt this technology, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and responsive environment for students and staff. Parents, such as Jennifer Reyes, are relieved and supportive of the new technology, as it provides peace of mind and ensures the safety of their children in school. The system is designed to keep students and staff safe during emergencies and allow for a prompt response to any crisis that may arise on campus. Julie Farbarik, Communications Director for Catalina Foothills School District, emphasized the importance of students feeling safe in order for learning to take place. The implementation of Centegix is seen as a positive step forward in maintaining a secure school environment and ensuring the well-being of all individuals on campus.
