Senator Raphael Warnock accuses controversial North Carolina GOP candidate Mark Robinson of embodying white supremacy while pretending to be Black.

Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia criticized GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson, calling him “white supremacy in blackface” and stating that he is the opposite of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. represented. This came after a CNN report revealed that Robinson had made lewd comments on a pornographic website, expressed support for slavery, and insulted Martin Luther King Jr.

Robinson, who serves as North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, denied the report and has faced backlash for his controversial statements. Warnock, who is a pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church where King once served, condemned Robinson’s remarks and tied him to former President Donald Trump, accusing Trump of supporting Robinson for political gain.

Despite the controversy surrounding Robinson, Trump has voiced support for him in the past, calling him “Martin Luther King on steroids.” However, at a recent rally in North Carolina, Robinson was notably absent, sparking speculation about Trump’s continued endorsement.

Despite pressure from allies and his own campaign, Trump has not rescinded his endorsement of Robinson. Warnock criticized Trump’s support of Robinson, likening it to his backing of another unqualified Black candidate in a previous election. The situation has stirred debate and raised questions about the role of race in politics and the credibility of political endorsements.
