Brian Callahan, the first-year head coach of the Tennessee Titans, is now managing aspects of coaching that he didn’t have to think about as an assistant coach. This includes overseeing practice schedules, strength training, and his coaching staff, which includes his father, Bill Callahan, as the offensive line coach. Bill has an extensive coaching background, including stints as head coach of the Oakland Raiders and the University of Nebraska, as well as coaching NFL offensive lines for 22 seasons. Despite always encouraging his son to forge his own path in the coaching profession, Brian was able to hire Bill to his staff after being offered the head coaching role by the Titans.
The father and son duo are now working together to lead the Titans, with some confusion arising due to their similar names and coaching styles. Players sometimes mix up their names, but they find it fun and light-hearted. Despite a challenging 0-2 start to the season, Brian and Bill are proud to be working together and are determined to succeed. They both express gratitude for the opportunity to work together and see it as a unique and special experience. The Callahans are focused on building a successful team and are cherishing the opportunity to work together in the NFL.
